Pain Free Tattoo
We've
been getting a lot of questions about this since Matthew Amey was interviewed
for needled.com and suicidegirls.com so hopefully this will clear things up. If you have any
further questions, please call Don Patterson at 410-271-9408 or email him at don@marylandfamilyhypnosis.com
Q. Is this real?
A. Yes. And it's not magic and does not involve drugs. By
following a set of simple steps, the tattoo artist can create a tattoo that is
completely pain free. We call it Trance-Dermal Anesthesia.
Q. How
does this work?
A. Trance-Dermal Anesthesia begins with a rapid hypnotic
induction and follows with a series of steps to produce anesthesia, relaxation
and rapid healing. The process takes about seven minutes, but follow-on
visits take even less time. The client sits or lays passively while the artist
works. The client can talk with you if you like, and will respond to your
instructions if you need them to adjust their position.
Q. Where
did this start?
A. In 2006, Don Patterson developed the Trance-Dermal
Anesthesia method and first demonstrated it at Independent Tattoo in Selbyville,
Delaware. The results were amazing and allowed tattoo artists to work on even sensitive
areas without causing any discomfort.
Q. Can
I really learn to do this?
A. Yes. In just two days, you will learn how to reliably
induce hypnosis and hypno-anesthesia. The Trance-Dermal Anesthesia course is given in a weekend. You will be taught the history and theory of
hypnosis, methods of inducing trance and the steps for producing anesthesia in
the skin. In just two days you can learn how to completely anesthetize your
clients to sit or lay passively while you do your work.
Q. Are
there any dangers to using this method?
A. No. There are no dangers in hypnosis. Unlike chemical
anesthesia, there are no contraindications of hypnotic anesthesia and no side
effects. At the end of the session, your client emerges from the trance state
feeling terrific.
Q. What
further benefits can be gained by using this?
A. In addition to taking away the pain, clients report
that their tattoos heal much more quickly.
Also, bleeding is minimized so that the ink isn’t pushed out. Artists
can create larger artwork since the client feels no pain. The ability to
perform painless tattooing gives an artist a significant competitive edge.
Q. What
else can I use this for?
A. The hypnosis you learn in the weekend class can be used
to help clients stop smoking, lose weight and reduce stress.
You can also use your hypnosis skills to entertain friends at parties.
Q. If this is so great, why didn't
somebody come up with this idea sooner?
A. Dunno.
